Who we are

Hey there! I’m Marquerette, and I write age-appropriate lessons for nonspeaking legends who spell to communicate. The Lesson Shelf was born out of one big idea: just because someone doesn’t speak, doesn’t mean they don’t have A LOT to say (and learn, and question, and roll their eyes at).

As an S2C practitioner and educator, I know that most mainstream materials just don’t cut it — too babyish, too boring, or just plain wrong. So I decided to build a better shelf. One with thoughtful lessons, juicy facts, pop culture deep dives, and just enough quirk to keep things interesting.

Basically, if you’re looking for lessons that presume competence, support motor needs, and actually respect the speller, you’re in the right place.

Welcome to The Lesson Shelf.

Who can benefit from The Lesson Shelf's resources?

The lessons are designed to support spellers across a wide range of regulation, motor, and communication profiles. Whether you’re working with a newly introduced speller or someone who’s been spelling for years, the content is respectful, adaptable, and rooted in the principles of motor planning and purposeful movement.

If you’re looking for well-paced, age-appropriate lessons that presume competence and lighten your prep load — welcome to The Lesson Shelf. You’re going to love it here.

Interested in selling your lessons?

Are you an S2C practitioner, CRP, educator, or lesson-creating wizard with a Google Drive full of age-respectful brilliance? We’d love to have you on the Shelf!

The Lesson Shelf is all about offering high-quality, motor-friendly, competence-presuming resource. If you’ve created lessons that are thoughtful, engaging, and built with spellers in mind, this is your sign to share them with the world.
